Doomed Confessionary: David Isberg (bloodofjupiter)

The year 2024 marks the 13th anniversary of bloodofjupiter, the band spawned by David Isberg’s (ex-Opeth, ex-Procreation, ex-Mynjun, ex-Somn, etc.) wrathful reflections of his soul. David is a vocalist, lyricist and spiritual demographer of bloodofjupiter.

Pain and harmful doomed death metal from the southern regions of Stockholm’s suburbs causes doomonic chaos.

Expect a mighty & powerful single with a hunger of the dread coming spring 2024…

»I Am Anti-Christ« is set for release on May 17th!!!

Can you say a few words about your band?
bloodofjupiter – doomed death fvkkn metal since 2011 or doomonic mad boogie of total destruction, 13 years of doomonic chaos… maiming brutality from South Stockholm, Sweden.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Drummers be in & out off the band at the same time. It is not like competent drummers grooves on trees these days…

What can you be most proud of so far?
Our new single »I Am Anti-Christ«, of corpse. Digital release world wide May 17th & our participation on the splitrecord released in Nepal by Raw And Extreme Records named »Doomed to Death« with five bands from all over the world. Complete mutilation of the world order and the music industry.

What was your biggest regret?
We do not work with regrets, we just look forward. It’s like… fvkk that shit and then we just take the next step.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
We recently had a great trip to play Brewgata in Oslo. A fantastic adventure as the ppl at the venue was top and did everything for the band. Very supportive. Also our trip to Den Haag to play Musicon last year was splendid. I do hope we play those venues again. Great people who are grateful that you come play at their venues.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Grunge died fast but metal took a long way to come back and be strong again. The yellow goat was sold for like €17 in 1998…

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Black Sabbath, Autopsy, Venom, Ufomammut & Ahab as always, the new Darkthrone, latest Sadus, Winter & the first three Mahogany Rush records & not forget Swedens new death metal hope Cryptorium and epic doom band Beatrice Victoria.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
By an old man: Be true to yourself and never listen to what others say, this is your creation, your srr, not a boost of the ego of a douchebag thinking he is something (because it is always a male, not being so active in music himself try to tell you what to play and how to play it).

What are your guilty pleasures?
Myself, I listen to cheesy movie soundtracks and play DiscGolf, for the band in full, we drink snobby Calvados and not cheap beers at rehearsals.

Can you say something more about the music scene in Stockholm area?
Back in the 80’s it was ok as everybody knew each other or knew who eachother was. Now there is a too big spread over old/young ppl and north/south Stockholm but that is natural when the scene turns out bigger. I know about shitloads of the ppl same time I know no people or who the heck they are and no people knows me at all.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We do not have so much plans to perform due to work on a new full length album. We only have three shows in the Stockholm area confirmed at this moment for 2024, but if someone calls us, we are eager to listen to the offer and will most likely come to play but we are not working so much on it outselves .

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Make a new record and return to play The Netherlands, as it looks like we have most listeners there (and in Italia), also European and U.K.-shows hopefully in the pipe. Denmark, Finland and Iceland would be great.

How can people best support your band?
Come see our shows, buy our music on Bandcamp, request local promotors to book us in your town. Sort of. Play our music loud and you will soon see your neighbours walk around in bloodofjupiter t-shirts…

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Never trust or try to impress others. Listen to yourself, live your dreams and just let life burn…
