Kameniak is a stoner/grunge/punk band from Celje, Slovenia.

The hard-hitting trio looks for its influences in Palm Springs and Seattle, but can also uproot it’s post-punk roots. The members genre backgrounds and production DIY give the band a unique, hair-raising sound.

Kameniak just released their new EP »Black Sky Summer« on May 15th, 2024 via underground DIY label ŠOP Records.

Can you say a few words about your band?
The band started to take shape in spring of 2020. We all know what happened at that time so we can say we had some spare time to work on something new. So me and the drummer (Tijaž Messec) started to work on some of my ideas and the songs started to emerge and later that year the bass player and vocalist (Vid Verdev) came along and the trio was born. So here we are three records later.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Maybe to promote ourselves? We are not the most social media savvy people and the way how the music industry works these days that is definitely not a plus for us, but we try to get better at it!

What can you be most proud of so far?
We are proud on the fact that we are exploring our boundaries in music and always try to push them out a little. You know, not to get stuck in the same way of doing stuff. We tried to break our habits recording the latest record (»Black Sky Summer«) live in the same room.

What was your biggest regret?
We try not to live with regrets.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
We will have to play live more often to answer that. We are planning more live shows in autumn 2024 to support our new record.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The biggest surprise was propably that it’s not easy to sell any music online to support bands new releases. Live shows are still king.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Pontiak, The Heavy Eyes, Masters Of Reality.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
For every obstacle you run into on your music journey, the answer is always, make better music.

What are your guilty pleasures?
My guilty pleasure is sometimes doing absolutely nothing.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
It is yet to be announced we are working on it. Follow our social media for more info.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Our plan is to keep working at our craft, improve, explore and make new music. Play live as much as we can.

How can people best support your band?
They can visit our Bandcamp page if they wish to support us, follow us on our social media channels and come see us play live if they can.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
I hope they enjoy our music.
