Turbo Moses (formerly known as Domination Overload) has been performing music in the German Saxony and occasionally beyond it’s borders since 2017. In 2024 the group took the step to rename themselves to Turbo Moses, after changing their style of music over the years. In the same year Turbo Moses is releasing their debut-album »Desert Frost«. Driven by the giants of the New Orleans sludge scene, their stated goal is to present the dirtiest sludge metal on as many stages around the world as possible.

Can you say a few words about your band?
We are Turbo Moses from fucking Schiebock (Bischofswerda, Saxony Germany)! Founded 2017 as “Domination Overload”, and renamed to “Turbo Moses” in 2024 in order to find a name that suits our style of music better. Turbo Moses is: Morgalla and Trilex: guitars and feedback, Gutsche: mouth-noises, Tasti: battery, Simon: low end.
Our mission: Sludge!

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
To find a bassist who is equally fucked up in the head as we all are, but still able to play his instrument. That took us several years, but we finally succeeded in 2021.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Over the last years we played more shows than we can even remember, and successfully survived the more often than not following excesses. And even more are on the way! We are extremely happy to have a steadily growing group of fans, and love to meet new people and crowds to annoy with our noise.
Our biggest achievement is with no doubt the release of our debut album »Desert Frost« this year, wich we wrote, recorded and produced all by ourselves in our so called “STonstudio” over the last few years.

What was your biggest regret?
Nothing. It took us some time and changes to get to where we are right now, but everything that happened in the past was necessary for us to evolve this way.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
That’s a difficult question. Every concert is a memorable experience in its own way, whether it’s a local club you play in for the thousandth time, or you travel through half of the country to a venue you have never even visited before.
The most fun is probably playing shows with befriended bands, or to play at a festival you have visited a lot before, wich happened at Nuckstock 2022.
Another highlight definitely was our release show with “Black Mood” this May.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Probably anything somewhat related to stoner, doom and sludge, especially the New Orleans Louisiana scene.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Don’t take heroin, that stuff will fucking kill you.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Gutsche: Depeche Mode.
Morgalla: Ossi MC.
Trilex: Madonna.
Tasti: Green Day.
Simon: Peter Schilling – »Major Tom« (german version); Minecraft.

Can you say something more about the music scene in your part of Germany?
We’re very lucky and happy that Germany is quite rich in heavy clubs, venues and festivals, all thanks to a very lively and passionate scene. After all, most of the time it all comes down to the people who, often voluntarily, organise events and festivals, book bands, work at the venues, the bands themselves and, most importantly, the fans. Support your local scene!

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Our next gigs are:
18.05. Stoned Forever – Muggefugg Cottbus
14.06. Godless Mountain Open Air – Comerau/Klix
20.07. Death Earth Festival – Rosenthal
26.07. Bluemoon Festival – Strombad Cottbus, together with bands such as Orange Goblin, Weedeater, Wolfmother, Ahab, and many more! This one’s gonna be amazing!
12.10. HD Dresden – together with Doublewide
02.11. Ostpol Dresden

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Write and record new music and play as many shows as possible! Also seeing as many great bands live on stage as possible, meet new people and just have an overall great time with good company.

How can people best support your band?
Come to concerts, spread and share our music, and do the best you can to keep the scene alive. Also you can buy some merch and our CD, so we can keep doing what we love.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Just do whatever the fuck you want, we won’t care.
Hail Moses!
