Doomed Confessionary: Iztok, Gregor & Blaž (Protype5)
Protype5 is a three-piece groove/sludge/death metal band hailing from Slovenia.

Can you say a few words about your band?
Protype5 formed by Iztok (guitar, vocals) and Gregor (drums) in 2017. Musically, we are influenced by bands such as High On Fire, Crowbar, Black Sabbath, and Pantera.
Soon, Matjaž (bass) joined us, which made it possible to finish the music, which desperately needed solid bass lines.
The result two years later is the first shorter album – a self-titled EP. A change soon followed in the replacement of the bassist, he was replaced by Blaž who really does his best and we are happy now that the band can move forward.
What was the biggest challenge for the band this year?
Recording of our EP and finding live gigs.
What can you be most proud of this year?
We’re quite proud of our latest release »Upcoming Bites«.
What was your biggest regret?
We luckily have none.
What was the best concert/tour this year and why?
The best time we had wasevent Ropotalnica in Turnišče. People there were wild. We have great respect for everyone that showed up, and hopefully, we’ll go back soon.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
We’re excited to see a new festival – Tolminator on the location that was Metaldays. Kudos to the guys behind the organization of Tolminator.
Where can we see you live next year (concerts/tours)?
So far we’re only confirmed for Kadilnica Of Death on 28.3.2024 with Glista and Black Camo. Further announcements will be posted on our Facebook page.
What are your plans for the next year as a band? What do you personally, want the most?
We’re planning on releasing a single and playing live as much as possible. We’re not picky about the location haha.
