Doomed Confessionary: Jack, Alex & Tochi (Motherloud)

Motherloud is a stoner/grunge rock band from León, Mexico. Founded in 2022, the band’s sound is based on unpretentious guitars, thunderous bass, powerful drums, and vociferous vocals. It’s a challenging, raw sound, with high volume, dirty feedback, and stark, philosophical lyrics about life.
Motherloud first started in 2016 under the name Allen’s Wrench (taken from a Kyuss song). After playing for a couple of years, they took a long break to pursue side projects. In 2022, the project was revived, now as Motherloud, to give it a more defined identity.
Motherloud currently consists of Ulises “Jack” González (guitar, vocals), Alejandro “Alex” Alcaraz (bass) and Josef “Tochi” Guerrero (drums).
Can you please say a few words about your band?
We are a band from León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Our sound is that of a power trio: guitar, bass, and drums. We have a powerful and distorted sound.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
To find bandmates who share the same vision for music, to put egos aside and be able to work together to grow as a band.
What can you be most proud of so far?
Of the growth we’ve had these last few years, accompanied by our first official album »Obey The Riff«.
What was your biggest regret?
It’s all been a learning experience that has led us to improve in many aspects, but if we could express any regret… it would be taking so long to understand it.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
All the shows we’ve had in recent years have had very positive aspects, but if we had to choose one show based on its scale and audience reception, it would be in Mexico City, at the famous Tianguis Cultural del Chopo.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
You have to work very hard to achieve the goals.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
The tastes of each member are very varied, but without a doubt stoner, grunge and a little bit of metal are what drive the band.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Work hard and enjoy it.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Watch a couple of romantic movies.
Can you say something more about the current music scene in León?
The scene in our city isn’t the best, but the point is to do things as well as possible, so that people want to listen to you and you keep moving forward.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
This year, 2026, we’ve toured quite a bit; it’s one of our goals for this year. We’ve played in our hometown, parts of Jalisco, the Bajío region, and San Luis Potosí. We’ll be returning to Mexico City, and we’ve also been invited to play in Monterrey and Ciudad Juárez. And we hope to tour internationally next year.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
12.-To go on tour abroad, to premiere the next material we are working on, and for our music to reach more people.
How can people best support your band?
Listen to our music and, if you like it, share it.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Enjoy life, and if you’re going through a tough time, reach out to your loved ones, talk about it, and listen to Motherloud.
