Sounds For The Lost Generation

Doomed Confessionary: Jan-Marc, Hauke & Christoph (Overman)

The debut album »It Is All Overman« by the 3-piece ensemble Overman from Kiel (Germany) invites the listener to join them on their musical and mental journey.

Multi-instrumentalist and musical workaholic Jan-Marc Ivers has teamed up with old companions and scene veterans Hauke Drews on bass guitar and Christoph Wollmann on vocals and delivers something truly unique in the 56 minute opus.

As their sound is deeply connected to psychedelic and stoner rock, the songs cross easily the border between rock, punk, jazz and pop. You will find straight songs, psychedelic trips, deeply melancholic pieces or even pure dadaism influenced passages.

Overman’s debut album »It Is All Overman« was released on September 5th, 2023 via Sliptrick Records.

Can you say a few words about your band?
We are humans, thrown in the middle of a chaotic life surrounded by systems, who try to assimilate our souls. The Overman is the result – us trying to explore every kind of music or art, we feel like. Without boundaries, without limitations. As long as it feels right for us, we might reach people with it.

What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
To get our output sorted and make a plan for all the upcoming stuff from us. The mastermind is always busy.

What can you be most proud of last year?
I think with our videos we have brought something interesting to life. This is definitely fun for us.

What was your biggest regret?
Looking at the wars in the world. This makes us feel sad and we regret being a part of this system.

What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
We made a private show with our friend Dani Malagia – this was an outstanding mélange of our handcrafted songs and the electronic tunes from Dani. This is also the basis for a remix album of our actual output »It Is All Overman« – scheduled to be released early next year.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The death of Harry Belafonte.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Still working on that – most likely some private shows.

What are your plans for the this year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
Work on new music, on new outputs, maybe even elaborate different musical universes like jazz or metal.

What are your New Year’s Eve activities like?
Stay at home, watching the game, having a Bud.

How can people best support your band?
Support us on social medial… or maybe you just listen to our tunes and do not tell anybody.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Of course – YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
