Doomed Confessionary: Jiri Mustajärvi (Ludalloy)

Seinäjoki, Finland based three-piece band Ludalloy is releasing their new album »Lumenari« in January 2024.

Musical affects of the new material leans to shoegaze and dream pop based hazy rock with the influences of progressive rock and alternative elegances. Ludalloy in this album contains Jiri Mustajärvi (vocals & guitar), Aino Vuorenmaa (vocals & bass) and Lassi Männikkö (drums).

Can you say a few words about your band?
It’s always the hardest question. No, even harder is to describe your own music. But if you have to say something about the band… umm… i’ve always wanted to have a band like this! All the way from the high school where i started to write these kind of songs for the first time! I was dreaming then if i someday have people to share a vision and passion making that kind of stuff! Even a couple of songs made its way – through the years – to our debut album. Those songs are called »You Are The Sun« and »Solar«. The other songs from that era didn’t make it to the first release but still living lives them own. With the way or another. You’ll see.

What was the biggest challenge for the band this year?
To start the touring circle again after those corona years. But we didn’t give that much effort for it after all. Mostly focusing to the new material.

What can you be most proud of this year?
To finally releasing new music and starting a whole new era for the band to come to a daylight bigger than ever!

What is your biggest regret?
Can’t really say anything to that. Pretty much everything has went as we’ve planned – or maybe gone even higher than our expectations! Only speed bump in our way has been those corona virus years. But not big enough to slow us! But that’s not really a regret or more less of our fault. And we all was there, not just us. But yes, no regrets!

What was the best concert/tour this year and why?
Rytmikorjaamo, Seinäjoki, Finland. Around a thousand people venue in our home town. It’s always awesome to perform there! Nice place and lovely staff. Hits me everytime!

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Maybe that the “lower culture” and the indie stylish music is really kicking against and bubbling under! There was some times i truly believe that it’s really the end of the organic music and alternative ways. Even if never lost the faith of our own doing. Still, that’s a huge relief!

Where can we see you live next year (concerts/tours)?
We’ll make the album release show also in our home town – in Bar15! Through the years it has always been like a living room especially for me, even if i doesn’t spend that much time in the bars anyway. Or neither in living room. But it’s always like going home! At least like in your own “beer garden”. Mostly without a beer or actual garden.

What are your plans for the next year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
First of all, we’re publishing a new album! It’s very exciting to finally let those songs free! So, the first part of the year is maybe spent by promoting the album and accomplishing more shows. Maybe start jamming some new stuff from the ideas already lighten! We’ve also planned some turns outside of Finland! But more of it later…

How can people best support your band?
To keep floating with us and let the music take you to the spheres it has always escorting us!

Do you have any message for your listeners?
We want to send thousands and thousands of thanks and bows to all our listeners and supporters all over the world! All the numerous feedback has melted my heart. Thank you a thousand times more and hope to see out there! Hold your gaze upward!
