Ghostheart Nebula is a cosmic doom metal band from Milan, Italy.
In 2021, Ghostheart Nebula released their debut full-length album, »Ascension«. It was an album that spoke to the hearts of those who heard it, hypnotising them with its haunting poignancy and majesty. Throughout the long days and endless nights since the arrival of »Ascension«, fans have been patiently watching the skies, waiting for the next outpouring of emotion, the next invitation to travel the stars with Ghostheart Nebula…and that time is nearly upon us.
Ghostheart Nebula have returned with a new album that towers above all their previous achievements; an album of beauty and sadness beyond imagination, an album of breathtaking scale and immeasurable depth…»Blackshift«. Their second album »Blackshift« is scheduled for release on October 17th, 2024 via Meuse Music Records.
Ghostheart Nebula are Lucia Amelia Emmanueli (vocals), Maurizio Caverzan (vocals), Panta Leo (drums), Aron Corti (guitar), Nick Magister (guitar, synth) and Bolthorn (bass).
Can you say a few words about your band?
We’re Ghostheart Nebula, from northern Italy. Our music identifies as cosmic doom metal, a blend of funeral/death doom, shoegaze and post-rock hints, soundtrack to intimistic and dreaming moments.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
As for many underground bands, our biggest challenge is trying to spread our music as much as possible and reach out to as many kindred souls as possible. We’re an underground band playing a niche music of course, but we feel there is something common in all the people listening to these musical nuances, something in our emotions and personal backgrounds – this is where we move, trying to be as one with who listens to our songs.
What can you be most proud of so far?
Our upcoming album »Blackshift«, for sure. It has been a really beautiful but also painful journey to make it. Lots of work behind it but we assume that efforts always paid off and we’re really proud of the final result!
What was your biggest regret?
No big regrets, actually! We’re really happy about our growing path as a band even if we faced small issues here and there. We’re aware it’s just a part of the game and we always managed to react well so far, so let’s say if you do your best there’s no room for regrets!
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Church Of Crow Doom Festival II was probably our best gig so far. Playing slow doom metal in a packed deconsecrated church alongside some of the biggest names in the scene (Skepticism, Shape Of Despair,…) was something epic! Haunting the Castle IV in Belgium was also stunning, playing with many other great bands we personally like and follow in a Belgian castle was truly an unforgettable experience.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Perhaps the number of good releases in the doom (and related) scene. Big names have always been there for us all, but recently a lot of great new albums are coming out in the shadows. Seems a bit like doom metal is living a sort of a second golden era.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
The same we got as human beings: just be yourself.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Let’s say listening to music and forgetting about the world to the point where nothing really matters anymore. Not sure if this can be considered guilty though!
Can you say something more about the music scene in Milan / Italy?
There are plenty of good bands in our area and, especially in the last 5/6 years, the quality is really increasing! The Italian doom scene is alive in all its shades and it can say something quite strong in the international field as well.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We’ll announce shortly our release show for our upcoming album “Blackshift”, in the surroundings of Milan. Then we are planning some shows and mini-tours inside and outside Italy, just follow our social pages to keep updated!
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Right now we’re focused on the release of our upcoming album »Blackshift« but we have tons of notes for the album after and we’re constantly talking about ideas, gigs and future tours. The plan is not to remain silent and continue doing our stuff!
