Twin Gods is a psychedelic doom metal duo from Cologne, Germany.

As the sun reached its zenith and the world celebrated the mystical dance of the summer solstice, Twin Gods emerged from the shadows to unleash their latest sonic odyssey, »The Great Warrior«. This new single is an enigmatic blend of psychedelic stoner rock, infused with the relentless rhythms of krautrock and the ominous undertones of doom metal.

Drawing inspiration from ancient myths and cosmic realms, »The Great Warrior« transports listeners on a transcendental journey, weaving through layers of mind-melting guitar, haunting melodies, and thunderous drums. Twin Gods, have crafted a track that is both a tribute to the past and a herald of the unknown.

Prepare to be captivated by the spectral energy of Twin Gods as they invite you to lose yourself in the labyrinthine echoes of »The Great Warrior«. Embrace the solstice, join the ritual, and let the music guide you through the twilight of reality and into the dawn of a new auditory dimension. The journey begins now.

Can you say a few words about your band?
M: We are Twin Gods, a project consisting of two people at the moment. This band was started in a very dark time in our lives towards the end of the constant Covid lockdowns in 2020.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
M: The biggest challenge so far was finding people to play this music live. It is still ongoing. If you want to play in this band and are based in central Europe, shoot us an email via ma**@******ds.church.

What can you be most proud of so far?
M: I am proud of us deciding to just put our music out there. It has been difficult for me to decide when a piece of music is ready for release. This time it felt important enough to just put it out without completely overthinking everything for years on end and doing hundreds of mix revisions.

What was your biggest regret?
M: We are very young as a musical project. So far so good. No regrets!

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
M: The best concert I have ever seen was Between The Buried And Me. They are incredibly good. And they were in a tour package with Lamb Of God and Job For A Cowboy.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
M: How many musicians are treated unfairly by a society that listens to music basically 24/7.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
M: I have listened to my old Acid Bath albums a couple of times last week. These guys are worth a listen if you like metal, was obsessed with them when I was a teen and got them on vinyl now. I also had an Andrew WK phase earlier this year. Obsessed with that guy. Google Andrew WK vision journal for a real rock and roll rabbit hole.

J: A lot of stoner bands like Monolord, Green Lung, Conan etc. But I was also listening a lot to Deathmetal and atmospheric black metal shortly like Sulphor Aeon, Blut aus Nord, Grima, Thy Catafalque, Ultha, The Ruins Of Beverast etc. I really do listen to a lot of music every day.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
M: Nothing is ever perfect. A good song is never finished, only abandoned.

J: It is the same for me I think. Just trust your first intuition.

What are your guilty pleasures?
M: 70s soft rock. Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Boz Scaggs, Climax Blues Band, Kenny Loggins. Makes me feel like I own a yacht.

Can you say something more about the music scene in Cologne?
M: In Cologne we have a great scene in our genre with bands like Galactic Superlords, Eremit, Urlaub in Polen, Purple Dawn, Astral Kompakt and Daevar. Not to forget that Cologne has a Krautrock legacy with the mighty Can and a lot of other German psych legends originating from here.
We also have a lot of friends in the metal scene like Feradur, Luzidity and Frostland.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
M: We are working on something interesting. The first concert has yet to be played. So we want to make it something very special and play it on an energetically resonant point in time.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
M: Keep the ritual going for as long as possible.

J: We first need to get a good working band together and I hope we soon can be seen live. Maybe next year.

How can people best support your band?
M: Support us with a dollar on Bandcamp by buying our music. Or just get in contact and say hi. Or write a commentary on YouTube about how much your hate our work. Everything helps.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
M: I hope everyone can see you. Cheers!
