Founded in 2014, Croatian stoner/groove rockers Sloanwall have already shared the stage with Sasquatch, Nightstalker, Godsleep, Deaf Radio, Mars Red Sky, Dopelord and more. From 2020 to 2022 they took a break and in 2022 they returned with a new singer. Sloanwall’s debut album »Elephantry« was released on April 15th, 2023 via Dostava Zvuka and features guest vocalists Domagoj Šimek (She Loves Pablo) and Jared Collins (Mississippi Bones) among others.

Sloanwall are Matija Sarić (guitar), Robert Polak (guitar), Bruno Aljinović (bass), Juraj Sarić (drums) and Arijan Škapur (vocals).

Can you say a few words about your band?
Sloanwall is a five piece stoner/groove rock band from Zagreb, Croatia founded in 2014. We released two EPs and a full album, did a lot of gigs around Europe playing festivals and clubs.

What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
Biggest challenge was working with the new singer in the same time as finishing the new album. Arijan came in the band when we already composed the album so we had to make a decision which songs would fit him the best and what to change. At the same time he was learning our older songs and getting to know us.

What can you be most proud of last year?
This would be the same answer as for the last question, but we would like to add a few cool gigs. Managing a new singer and a new album is a thing to be proud of, but except that we landed a few cool gigs like a gig with Unida in Slovenia.

What was your biggest regret?
There is nothing to regret last year, it went really good for us. We are positive and hope that the next one would be even better.

What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
Best gig last year was in Slovenia with RoadkillSoda and Unida. Great energy, great guys and a packed club. We had a blast on that one.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
We get surprised often by underground bands that sound really awesome when we play gigs around Europe.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We don’t have any dates confirmed yet, but during the summer we may be playing some festivals in Europe, and during the rest of the year gigs around Croatia and nearby countries.

What are your plans for the this year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
We want to make some new music, hopefully a new full album, and would like to play a few gigs, somewhere we didn’t play yet.

How can people best support your band?
You can buy our merch, we have some new album T-shirts, as well as music on bandcamp and, of course, come to our concerts.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Listen to good music, support your local bands, buy their music online and pay the ticket for the show.
