Can you say a few words about your band?
Hello guys, Nobu here. We are known as “Tokyo Samurai Doom” Hebi Katana. We were formed in 2020 and we have released 2 full albums and some EPs and live recordings. Our 3rd album »III« will be released on December 13th. Current line up is: Laven (bass, backing vocals), T.T. Goblin (drums, keyboards) and Nobu (guitars, vocals).
What was the biggest challenge for the band this year?
It would be the production and recording for our latest album. We worked a full year for it.
What can you be most proud of this year?
Again, finishing up an album. I believe that it will be the best one we’ve ever done.
What was your biggest regret?
Hmm, not so much to regret this year! Maybe I wish we could have done more shows in Japan and overseas.
What was the best concert/tour this year and why?
It woud be our concert in Okinawa, which is a southern island in Japan. The audienece was mostly American Navy who were stationed nearby. They were awesome! I really hope we can go back there as soon as possible!
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
It would be new Rolling Stones album and new Beatles song! It was such a surprising and nice thing. I saw Thin Lizzy released an original Irish whiskey too. That is awesome.
Where can we see you live next year (concerts/tours)?
We’re gonna start up our gigs in February next year. There will be a release party as well. Not only in Tokyo but the west side of Japan. We are talking about possible tours in Europe as well. I hope we can confirm and announce details as soon as possible. I am sure that there will be more to come later next year.
What are your plans for the next year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
For me it is the same as always, writing new materials, hopefully some releases next year too. We are talking about possible split album with friends in Mexico. Stay tuned, hermanos. I want to make an original coffee beans or whiskey with a Hebi Katana label. It is my dream.
