Doomed Confessionary: Pablo, Guille, Víctor & Francisco (Double Horse)

Double Horse is a stoner/doom metal band hailing from Valencia, Spain. Their sophomore full-length album »Diablerie« was released on April 26th, 2024 via Kozmik Artifactz.

Grab a beer, light a joint (or a few), and prepare to be killed by the satanic madness of this album ‘cause »Diablerie« is hitting the street, and if you ain’t bangin’ your head, you might as well be six feet under.

Guided by the occult and macabre, the raw sound of the band hails sacrifices, black magic and erotism that brings a basis for every cult. B films, horror tales and sorcery are the main guidelines for most of the tunes. The riffs fluctuate between doom and psych, full of heavy and dirty sound, with classic 70’s shades. This pieces make up a torture device that will bring you to the afterlife.

Double Horse are Guille (vocals, drums), Víctor (keyboards), Francisco (bass) and Pablo (guitars).

Can you say a few words about your band?
Occultism, sorcery, raw and dirty sound… those are the main guidelines of our speech as a band. Straight to the point.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Biggest one? Well…trying to go on and trying to put your name on the map, as most of the underground bands maybe.

What can you be most proud of so far?
The people who supports the band in any way, the people who comes to the shows and get high enjoying every single riff. That’s insane!

What was your biggest regret?
Be trusting in some people who were toxic or were trying to screw us.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
We can’t choose one…touring is like riding a rollercoaster. Sometimes your up and sometimes your down. So we’ve lived a lot of insane experiences and moments, but we’ve been also on trouble.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The cool people you get to know. Fans, other band members, promoters, labels… Maybe it sounds weird to talk about a promoter or a label being cool, but there they are man. And we want to take the opportunity to hail the ones behind Kozmik Artifactz and every single person who took a moment to talk to us, you included.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Well…to avoid an infinite answer, we’re gonna say that love the metal related: death, 70s, thrash, black… (didn’t mention stoner, doom and related cause it’s obvious). But we also use to listen to blues, country, jazz, classical too.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
“Play the music you love, the music you feel” and “it’s not about playing excellently, it’s about what you tell playing”. Maybe we’re not complaying with it at all, but this is what makes us keep working.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Tough question for a doom band… Better not mention it… But nothing far from the things that any of you (the readers) did.

Can you say something more about the music scene in Valencia / Spain?
Well…there have been better days, but after the pandemic days things have changed everywhere in the world (in the music scene), so we think it is a “normal” transition.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We’re currently working on a national tour but we’d like to go out of Spain. Nothing official at this moment but let’s see.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Keep working, keep growing, keep smoking and keep doing what we love. That’s the way to go through. We are now working on new tunes for future releases.

How can people best support your band?
The best way to support a band is obviously buying their music, their merch stuff and going to see em playing live. But if it is not possible, sharing their music or posts on social media is a huge powerful way to help a band, and the best thing: it’s free and it takes 2 seconds!

Do you have any message for your listeners?
They better get high while listening to our music as we did while writing it…and thank you so much to those who supports us. And to those who do not, thank you too!
