Doomed Confessionary: Paulo, Fernando & Andre (Sonic Taboo)
Sonic Taboo is an instrumental rock trio from The Big Apple (NYC), formed in 2018. Heavy influenced by motorcycle culture, skateboard and fuzzy riffs.
The band released their second album »Kind Of Venom« in June 2022, available now through Interstellar Smoke Records (vinyl and CD) and Evil Nöise Records (cassette).
Sonic Taboo are Paulo Cassio on guitar, Fernando Menechelli on bass and Andre Deko on drums.
Can you say a few words about your band?
Sonic Taboo is a NYC based instrumental stoner biker trio formed in 2018. Drawing have inspiration from motorcycle culture, the band aims to create the ultimate soundtrack for a bike ride.
What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
no doubt kick off the Desert Fest NYC 2023 at a sold out Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, NY. With Duel, Lo-Pan and Color Haze on the bill.
What can you be most proud of last year?
Again, our performance at The Desert Fest NYC 2023. We have a amazing feedback that night, from the crowd to the promoters.
What was your biggest regret?
No regrets.
What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
Queens Of The Stone Age was amazing, killer show, so far the best we saw last year.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
AC/DC performing at Power Trip Festival in October.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We are going to Europe for the first time next year, on May 17th we will play at Desert Fest London 2024, we are looking forward for more dates to be added soon. Also we are going to do some gigs in our NY/NJ area for sure.
What are your plans for this year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
We are very excited with those shows in Europe off course, also we just started recording our third album and definitely we are going to release and promote a lot next year, we can’t for 2024.
How can people best support you?
We really appreciate when people follow us on social media, and like our posts and leave nice comments and after the gigs is always good to chat and make new friends. Definitely this keep us more inspired and motivated to move forward as a band.
