Doomed Confessionary: Remigiusz, Krzysztof, Jan & Leszek (Aurora Falls)
Aurora Falls is an instrumental quartet from Poznan, Poland. The band was formed in 2021 on the initiative of four musicians from different musical worlds. Aurora Falls consists of Remigiusz Orchowski (guitar), Krzysztof Kwita (guitar), Jan Marlewski (bass) and Leszek Drabikowski (drums).
The band’s music is a mixture of post-rock, progressive rock and shoegaze, creating a unique space, full of intense emotions and surprising soundscapes covering a wide range of sounds – from melancholic melodies to energetic, passionate songs.
Aurora Falls have released their second full-length album »Maze« on April 13th, 2025.
Can you please say a few words about your band?
We met a few years ago when each of us finished some musical stage with another band. That’s how Aurora Falls came into being, a bit by accident, maybe by fate. So it’s not a classic story where musicians grew up together.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
A big challenge was the resignation of our first bass player (especially since we had a concert booked) but luckily Jan joined us, he has been with us since the second album and we are very happy about that.
What can you be most proud of so far?
we are proud to have released two LPs it is really a challenge for us when you do it on your own.
What was your biggest regret?
Our biggest regret is missing out on playing a few festivals, but that’s how life works out.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Every concert is special to us. Our first concert was particularly meaningful because it showed us that we’re capable of a lot. We hope that every upcoming show will be just as successful. Soon, we’ll be playing in the center of our city, and we’re looking forward to a big dose of energy.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
It was a big surprise how much the music scene has changed in the last decade, especially due to Covid, many initiatives have died, which is a shame.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
There’s a lot of it. Maybe the new Karnivool and Muse.
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Be yourself
What are your guilty pleasures?
Shit jokes.
Can you say something more about the current music scene in Poznan?
There is a wide variety of music. Some of the older bands have survived, but there is also a lot of hope among bands that are just starting out.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
This month we will play in Poznan. Autumn Wroclaw, Bydgoszcz, Torun.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
We are constantly trying to tour as much as possible to reach the audience. In the future, maybe a third album.
