Doomed Nation

Sounds For The Lost Generation

Doomed Confessionary: Santeri, Lassi, Teemu & Vili (Void Cruiser)

Void Cruiser is a heavy alternative rock band from Helsinki, Finland. The band has been evolving since 2011 and developed their sound into a distinctive mixture of 90s grunge and heavy rock, with some taste of desert rock, post-metal and shoegaze.

Void Cruiser delivers vast soundscapes and unrelenting riffage with mellow and melancholic sonic aesthetics reinforced with smoothly dejected lyrical expression. Some influences throughout the years include for example Alice In Chains, Type O Negative, Deftones, and Kyuss.

The band’s latest full-length album »Call Of The Void« was released on November 11th, 2022 via Argonauta Records.

Can you say a few words about your band?
We are Void Cruiser, here to invade your pretty little nightmares.

What was the biggest challenge for the band this year?
Having a member relocate to another country. The result was a side project that carries the name “BAITTER!”. It’s hardcore punk in our native language of finnish, just for the sheer ‘perkele’ of it.

What can you be most proud of this year?
Still sounding great despite rehearsing every few months.

What was your biggest regret?
Playing only two shows. The second show was on the 28th of December.

What was the best concert/tour this year and why?
Santeri: I saw Pantera and immensely enjoyed it.
Lassi: For me, Radio Supernova, Teksti-TV 666 and Mara Balls.
Teemu: Our next show.
Vili: Whores.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Our vocalist quitting drinking!

Where can we see you live next year (concerts/tours)?
The idea is to tour Finland a bit in the summer. Let’s see if our inside man can cook something up in Denmark.

What are your plans for the next year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
We have 4-5 songs we intend to record, possibly releasing them digitally independently from one another. »Call Of The Void« hasn’t sold too well despite its obvious greatness so it could be a while until the next physical album.

Do you already know what are you doing on New Year’s Eve?
(Ominously:) Wouldn’t want to miss the fireworks.

How can people best support your band?
Buy the merch, expand the Void, and spread the good word of »Call Of The Void«.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Get ready to polka your knees off, we’re coming in HARD.
