Polly is a three-piece psych rock band from Berlin, Germany. They have been around for a couple years and have played quite a lot in Germany, with bands like High Desert Queen, TVOD, Black Market Karma and Spoon Benders.

Polly has released their first full-length album »Death Drive« on September 22nd, 2025. The album features some psychedelic rock, proto-metal, and doom influences. Recorded and mixed by Richard Behrens at Big Snuff Studio, Berlin.

Founded in 2024, Polly consists of Tina (guitar, vocals), Tom (bass, acoustic guitar, keys) and Alex (drums, percussion).

Can you please say a few words about your band?
We’re a three-piece based out of Berlin: Alex, Tom, and Tina, playing together since early 2024. We met through a post on a notice board where Tom and Tina were looking for a drummer, and that’s how it all started.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Tom: Sticking to your vision without driving everyone you work with crazy. Sometimes you’re the only one who knows what will sound best, but you still need someone to help you get there.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Alex: Listening to our album (»Death Drive«) on a record player was really special. Of course, there’s always room for improvement, but it was pretty sweet to work together on writing and recording the songs, designing the album cover (go Tom!), and finally getting everything pressed on vinyl.

What was your biggest regret?
No regrets.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Tom: Hard to tell, actually. Even if a show wasn’t technically one of the best, if there are at least a few people who really enjoy it, then so do we.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Alex: The amount of vegan chili promoters cook for you when you play in Germany.

Tina: Also that the smallest venue in a squatted house ended up paying us more than any other gig we’d played up to that point.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
It’s probably very different for each of us.

Tina: I’m currently diving into early Bob Dylan. I never really got much into him before, for whatever reason, but now I do.

Tom: Lately I’ve been listening to some old blues and R&B tunes by Elmore James and Johnny Otis, early heavy stuff like Bull Run or Bedemon, and I’ve also gotten into some Japanese 80s psych rock bands.

Alex: Lots of Beatles and Beach Boys these days. Steely Dan and AC/DC always.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
“Make your Amp louder!”

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Berlin?
Tina: There’s quite a big (underground) psychedelic, stoner, and metal scene, with lots of local bands and musicians. But many small and really cool venues have closed over the last 5-10 years, so there aren’t that many clubs left for smaller bands, at least not for a city of this size in my opinion.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We have a couple of gigs planned for early 2026:
• 11.02. Berlin (DE), Neue Zukunft (with Scott Hepple and the Sun Band)
• 18.03. Jena (DE), Rosenkeller (with Acid Row)
• 19.03. Berlin (DE), Neue Zukunft (with Acid Row)
And we’re planning to go to the UK in summer 2026.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Doing a small UK tour, writing new songs, and working on a new release.

How can people best support your band?
Come to shows and get merch!

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Come to shows, get a drink and get in touch.
