Poste 942 is a grunge/stoner/hard rock band hailing from Tourves, France.
French mainstays and rock chameleons Poste 942 have been playing their trade in the heavy underground since 2010, and their latest album sees the five-piece continue to push forward their sound with no signs of slowing down. Released on June 25th, 2024, »Chaleur Humaine« radiates its namesake warmth in Virginie’s soulful vocals and the pulsing, fuzzed-out riffs, all while maintaining a hard rock edge. Genres across the heavy spectrum are meshed with ease, and the crew are in full stride as masters of their craft on »Chaleur Humaine«.
Poste 942 are Virginie D. on vocals, Bruno Pradels and Sébastien Mathieu on guitars, Ludovic Favro on bass and Patrick Drd Durand on drums.
Can you say a few words about your band?
In few words: rock, good food, beer, friendship and mockery!
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
I think the biggest challenge was to play with me!!! I’m a girl and I sing in French, I know it was not well accepted by some fans… The former singer was a man and sang in a kind of “English yoghourt” with a raspy voice. It’s very different now!!!
What can you be most proud of so far?
For the guys, I think they are proud to go on and still enjoy in spite of changes in the line up. It’s even more important for Seb our guitarist, because Poste942 is his baby.
What was your biggest regret?
We don’t play enough!!! On stage of course!
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
We played at « la Sainte rock » one month ago, it’s a new fest in south of France near where we live. The place was beautiful and I think we were really proud to propose our music with the new line up. Then, there were our friends and family, it was really cool…
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Gojira at the Olympic Games opening ceremony for sure! It’s just incredible that French people discover one of the biggest french band who sell millions of records in the world!!! With Marina Viotti, it was quite emotional (I love Igorrrr too). But it’s just my answer because we don’t listen the same groups in Poste942 but it feeds our music!
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
On my playlist, currently, you can find Idles with »Joy As An Act Of Resistance«, Soad with »Soad«, Igorrr with »Spirituality And Distortion« and Hole with »Live Through This«!!

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Explore!! Explore your ideas, your voice, not worry about making mistakes and bad sounds. And as Bruno our guitarist says “it’s just music”.

Can you say something more about the music scene in south of France?
Bruno and I live in Marseille, rap city!!! It’s difficult to play rock in south of France while rehearsal spaces are complete, full of rock bands…
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
In France for sure and maybe in Slovenia if you invite us!! And the next week I will be in Slovenia for 15 days with my family!!
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Play »Chaleur Humaine« on stage, create videos, and work on a new album. We are very lucky because we can play and create music with ideal conditions. And eat, enjoy and eat !!!
