Doomed Nation

Sounds For The Lost Generation

Doomed Confessionary: Yotam Fadida (Lachlann)

Stoner/doom from the deepest part of the ocean. Coming from the beaches of Haifa, Israel, Lachlann do mostly nautical themed stoner doom music. Their sound is created around heavy, fuzzy riffs with an added middle-eastern twist creating a mystical, atmospheric vibe. Lachlann’s favorite themes are sea-monsters, sea-demons, sea-witches and people drowning.

Lachlann just released their debut album »Divers Doom« on August 1st, 2024. Available now on all major streaming platforms!

Can you say a few words about your band?
Lachlann came together after my previous band (Moni’s Cassettes) sort of went our separate ways and a huge music making vacuum was left in my life.
Like many other musicians today necessity dictates I have a day job, mine is at sea hence my influences and inspirations, lyrics and themes revolve around the nautical world.
I love writing about myths and legends, sometimes spooky and sometimes epic…

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Knowing when to let go. There’s always gonna be stuff you think could be better, but you could tinker away for eternity… At some point you gotta learn to say: “Yeah that’s it, the song is done.”

What can you be most proud of so far?
Consistency. Whenever the muse visits its straight to the recording room to lay some tracks down… Dont get lazy.

What was your biggest regret?
No regrets yet…

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Lachlann doesn’t play live at the moment… Never even thought I would get this far. Maybe in the future.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
All of the love and support from random strangers, an absolutely incredible feeling.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
I try to check out 2-3 new albums a week, right now im in to Groofalo, a greek instrumental trio, with crazy heavy riffs. Free Ride, a spanish stoner/surfer/desert rock band with a great psych rock sound. And of course my all time favorite is Monolord, they’re always in my weekly mixes.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Take your time to do it properly, don’t rush and regret it later. No need to compromise on your vision.

What are your guilty pleasures?
I’m a sucker for anything with a 90’s vibe. Even kitschy poppy songs lol.

Can you say something more about current music scene in Israel?
The stoner/doom scene is slowly growing here in Israel. Besides Lachlann, I currently play bass for SlowRepeat, also a stoner rock band.
More and more groups have been popping up and its awesome to see the crowds at gigs slowly grow from week to week.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
This year…. unfortunately not possible…

What are your plans for the future as a band?
I plan to release an EP during 2025, short but sweet.

How can people best support your band?
Just keep dooming! Listen to the music, send your love. Pray to Posiedon.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thanks for all the support! You’re all awesome! Keep your eyes on the horizon for more Lachlann tunes!
