Dutch blackened funeral doom/death metal band Faal says goodbye with their final two-track EP, »Fin«, which was released on February 7th, 2024.

The band commented: “As you might know, Faal is no longer active. Before the untimely passing of our guitarist and friend Pascal, we were in the midst of recording a new album. As we weren’t happy with some of the songs, we had yet to record them again. Unfortunately Pascal passed before we could hit the studio. We were, however, able to finish two songs and we are happy to share our new EP »Fin« with you now.”

Faal was founded in 2005 in the south of the Netherlands. The band’s music is influenced by doom metal, with touches of black metal and post-rock. Their first album »Abhorrence-Salvation« was released in 2008 at Ván Records. This album received many good reviews, which resulted in a sold out first printing.

In 2011 Faal went back to the studio to record their second full-length called »The Clouds Are Burning«. In 2015 they recorded a split with Eye Of Solitude (UK), which was received with great enthusiasm. In 2017 the band headed back to the studio and recorded their 3rd album »Desolate Grief« which was released in January 2018 and got more than its share of excellent reviews. Currently works are in progress for the next release. Beside their recordings, they’ve also built a good live reputation and shared stages with names such as Ataraxie, Isole, Forgotten Tomb, The Ocean, October Tide and Mourning Beloveth.

In November 2022 Pascal passed away in a tragic accident. Work had already begun on a new album, but only a pre-production was recorded, consisting of 4 songs. 2 songs were deemed good enough, so they were finished and released as an EP called »Fin« in February 2024.
