Dutch doom/death metal veterans Sad Whisperings unleash new music video for the track »The Land Of Silence«

Groningen, Netherlands based doom/death metal veterans Sad Whisperings have released new music video for the track »The Land Of Silence«.

»The Land Of Silence« was initially released on the 1998 promo and reissued on the demo compilation album »Return To Autumn« on November 3rd, 2023 through VIC Records.

The video was generated by Marvin Meerveld as an assignment for his media design studies.

Starting in early 90’s as Desecrate, the band played death metal with some doom influences. In 1992 the name was changed to, the more suiting, Sad Whisperings, after the change in musical direction to atmospheric doom/death metal heavily influenced by the greats like My Dying Bride, Anathema and Paradise Lost.

The first demo was recorded which landed them a record deal with Dutch label Foundation 2000 (Gorefest, The Gathering) resulting in the full-length album »Sensitive To Autumn« in 1993.

In 1995 and 1998 2 promos were recorded and there were some line-up changes. In 1999 the band went on hiatus, when Alexander moved to Argentina, where he teamed up with Mental Distortion (with Lars Rosenberg ex Entombed).

After Alex’s return from Argentina in 2002, the band was reformed with a fresh line-up and recorded their last promo so far in 2003. In 2005 Sad Whisperings was discontinued.

In 2022 VIC Records showed interrest in re-issueing »Sensitive To Autumn«. This led to the reformation of the band and a year later the re-issue of »Sensitive To Autumn« was released and the band performed for the first time in almost 20 years on the Dutch Doom Days in Baroeg, Rotterdam. Also the same year VIC Records released »Return To Autumn«, comprising the ’95 and ’98 promos.

Sad Whisperings also got a chapter in the book »Streams Of Ancient Wisdom: The History Of Dutch Death And Extreme Metal« written by Rock Tribune journalist Steve Willems.

Currently the band is working on material for a new album and ready to do shows and have a good time!
