European doom/drone/sludge/death metal solo project Mortualis stream the debut album, »Night Sighs«, which was just released on March 21st, 2026.

»Night Sighs« is the first album for Mortualis, a new project born from the mind of S.G. (Mephitic Mist), defined extreme doom for simplicity’s sake.

In reality, a mixture of doom, sludge and death metal echoes, all mixed with dark ambient sounds, with a depressive and negative feel (but don’t call it “funeral doom”).

S.G. comments: “Take the sound of the founding fathers, Black Sabbath, the heaviness of Primitive Man’s death sludge, and the drone-doom pulse of Hell, all blended with dark ambient sounds, influenced by the styles of artists on labels like Cold Meat Industry and Cryo Chamber.

Combine all this with a personal interpretation of the compositions, and you’ll get the current result. Yes, current, because Mortualis is changeable and will evolve over time.
