Exclusive Premiere: Thunderchief release a cover version of Cinderella’s »Night Songs«!

Richmond, Virginia based sludge’n’roll duo Thunderchief release a cover version of Cinderella’s »Night Songs« in their continued series of covers.
»Night Songs« is the title track taken from the multi-platinum debut album by American glam metal band Cinderella, which was released in 1986 via Mercury Records.
Thunderchief’s mainman Rik Surly comments: “Once we both locked into the tune, we realized how badass it was. The other factor is, no one had covered and released it to date….adding to the fact that some poor sap had a »Night Songs« tattoo and allowed us to exploit his arm for the sake of a single.
Personally, I feel this is my favorite track that we recorded at Soulcraft Studios.

The idea of Thunderchief began in 2006, as behind-the scnes guy Rik Surly set off to creat a band without any other members. Years of wasting time and money with less than dedicated proved tobe the catalyst for catharsis.
The early years were proving fruitful in the fact that music fans were looking for something “different”, supporting the idea that “if you do it, they will come”. These years saw Rik touring and recording as a one-man solo project, with a wall of 30 speakers as the only support.
Recording was done by laying down real drum tracks, and using those tracks live to create the complete “band”. Since most music fans aren’t impressed by 1 person on a stage, the idea of having another member was almost too depressing to move forward with.
2011-2015 were spent touring, driving around the country with no plan, just getting the name out and playing live. Then, in 2016, Erik Larson (Alabama Thunderpussy, Kilara, Avail, etc.) came into the fold by providing drum tracks and co-writing to further the endeavor…at first, only playing on recordings. Thunderchief kept on touring as a one-man solo project until Larson decided in 2020 to commit to writing, recording and touring with Thunderchief.
From this point forward, the duo has written and recorded what they feel is the most reperesentitive of the band’s vision. Their latest album »Synanthrope« was released December 3, 2021 in digital format, recorded by Mike Dean (Corrosion Of Conformity), and mixed by Mark Miley.
