Polymerase comments: “The creation of »Mindspace« began in late 2023 and only reached completion this year. It all started when Vincent, the main creative force behind the band, began crafting riffs that took a different direction from our previous album. We knew from the start that this project would demand a new sonic approach. We knew that the sound would be more layered, more introspective, and more expansive.
Originally, Eugene was set to handle drums, but due to his commitments to another band, scheduling became a challenge. That led Vincent to reconnect with Francis, our drummer from Unostentatious. He reached out to see if Francis would be willing to record for this new project, and fortunately, he agreed.
Allan recorded the bass parts for »Cosmic Wanderlust«, while Francis handled most of the drum tracking from the U.K. Vincent composed and engineered the drums for three tracks: »Incense For The Beast«, »Crows And Doves«, and »Divine Reefer«. Guitars and the majority of the bass tracks were recorded in Quezon City.

»Mindspace« explores themes of transcendence, altered states of consciousness, and spiritual awakening. It’s about stepping beyond physical limits and confronting the self. It is also about reflecting on internal struggles, and hopefully, unlocking some form of deeper potential.
Sonically, the album is rooted in stoner rock, but it’s layered with influences from krautrock, doom, sludge, and post-metal. Our inspirations include Elder, Sleep, Om, Isis, Russian Circles, and Hawkwind. It’s heavy, spacey, meditative. What we are trying to achieve is a sound meant to stretch and saturate the listener’s mind.
»Mindspace« is now available on Bandcamp, and we’re currently working on a vinyl release for those who want to hold this music in physical form.”
