Slowenya releases third album »The Wild Inevitable« 17.4.2024

Turku (Finland) based alt doom trio Slowenya will release their third album »The Wild Inevitable« (Karhuvaltio Records) on 17 April 2024.

The album brings out more influences of electronic music in the band’s sound and the album’s third single »Terminal Eclipse Of The Heart« is strongly influenced by Crosses and Depeche Mode. Slowenya’s most central sound is still rooted in the stormy low-pitched guitars and bass, floating ambient worlds and wide vocal melodies.

“The role of the drummer [Timo Niskala] as a songwriter has grown a lot. We are all interested in music on a very wide scale and we want to bring it out in our expression as well. It seems like there aren’t many bands in Finland that make this kind of sound,” says singer-guitarist Jan Trygg.

The theme of »The Wild Inevitable« is about accepting inevitable things and appreciating matters within the framework of our life expectancy.

“In my opinion, more time and effort has been put into this album than before, especially from the arrangement point of view. It’s wonderful to release it from our hands to the world,” says bassist Tapani Levanto.

Slowenya is an alt doom trio from the city of Turku, located in the west coast of Finland. Founded in the spring of 2020 the band’s sound consists of lof low-pitched string instruments, ambient sound worlds and echoed vocals. Slowenya’s sound has influences from bands like Deftones, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and Thou and it has been said to represent the genres of doomgaze and post-rock.
