Finnish doom metal veterans Spiritus Mortis have announced their sixth studio album, »No Human Contact«, which will be released on January 15th, 2027 via Svart Records.

Finnish doom metal pioneers Spiritus Mortis celebrate their 40th anniversary with a new album out in January 2027!

Finland’s first doom metal band Spiritus Mortis will reach the glorious age of 40 next year and the occasion calls for a new album in mid-January 2027. Following in the footsteps of The Great Seal, Spiritus Mortis returns with a haunting new chapter in Doom Metal, »No Human Contact«. A descent into the darkest corners of the human mind – madness, mystery, and the unexplainable, this massive monolith confirms the band’s global position as one of the elites in its genre.

The album’s lead single »The Hairy Tree« delves into Scotland’s darkest legend. The bloodline of Sawney Bean, the darkness of the caves and the macabre family history turned into heavy and oppressive doomsday metal. »The Hairy Tree« takes the listener to a place from which there is no return. Spiritus Mortis’ »No Human Contact« will be released on January 15, 2027. In addition to the CD, the album is available for pre-order in three different vinyl versions, of which the stunning limited edition of 100 copies on Dark Green/Orange/Red marble vinyl is available exclusively at Svart Records’ online store.
