“Old school heavy/doom metal madness from Oulu, Finland, est. 2011.”

Wolfshead is a heavy/doom metal band formed in Oulu, Finland, in October 2011. Known for their dark, riff-driven style, the group balances a classic 1970s proto-doom sound reminiscent of Black Sabbath with a raw, loud, and honest heavy rock energy in the vein of Motörhead. The band was established by veteran underground musicians with decades of experience in the Finnish metal scene.

Wolfshead initially built their presence in the underground circuit through self-released demos in early 2010’s. They gained wider recognition in 2015 with the release of their debut EP, »Caput Lupinum«, issued through GodEater Records, showcasing their signature blend of grit and old-school doom elements.

The band expanded their footprint by signing with Rockshots Records to release their debut full-length studio album, »Leaden«, in 2017. The album garnered praise from underground metal critics for its organic production and authentic, stripped-down rock ‘n’ roll vibe.

Following line-up shifts and a series of single releases – including »Power Surge« (2022), »Rated ‘V’ For Violence« (2023) and »Night Strutter« (2025) – Wolfshead returned with their sophomore full-length album, »II: Ravings From The Gutter«, in May 2025. The album continued their hallmark trajectory of delivering focused, uncompromising, and grim traditional metal. They followed up soon after with their EP, »Revelatio Obscurum«, released in late 2026.
