After 5 years since the release of their self-titled 7″, Rivette returns with their debut album »True Distance«, forged to the rhythm of the still beating heartland.
»True Distance« encompasses the trek started already before the »In Harmony« days of 2018, as thoroughly described in the lifebloodstained liner notes. Rocking the creaking rowboat midst the riptide of creative flow and its arduous countercurrents. Once again in solace and the associated desolation of isolation, far away of what can even remotely be considered “happening”, no matter the scale. For better or for worse, distant by name and distant by nature.
The runtime of over 45 minutes allows us to tread deep down the rabbit hole, which is already reflected in the two single releases »White Collar Dog« and »Silhouettes On The Shoreline«. No two tracks are alike, just something picked up on the way.

A lion’s share of the album was once again recorded at the picturesque home away from home of Tonehaven Recording Studio by Tom Brooke. Some loose odds and ends were tied up during 2022 at Skynet Studios and LOS1 Audio Laboratory. The stunning artwork was patiently conjured by Jordan Warren while the local hero Niko Vilkman handled the photography.
