Finnish melancholic death metal band As The Sun Falls unveils new standalone single »Viimeinen Aamunkoi« right before European tour

Finnish melancholic death metal band As The Sun Falls has released a brand new standalone single »Viimeinen Aamunkoi«.

Released exclusively for the upcoming EU tour, »Viimeinen Aamunkoi« dives into a cosmic hunt between light and shadow. A celestial deer, a relentless Hunter, and a battle that decides whether dawn will ever rise again. As The Sun Falls delivers a cold, emotional blow straight from the heart of the North.

As The Sun Falls comments: “Following the release of our album »Songs From The Veil«, we are incredibly happy to release one more song, and the final chapter of this journey.

Written during the »Songs From The Veil« songwriting sessions, this composition was ultimately left off the album due to the albums already extended runtime and its Finnish lyrics. Originally intended to become one of the album’s most thematically distinctive songs, it has now been brought back to life as a standalone single for our 2026 European Tour.

Recorded entirely by the band and mixed and mastered by our guitarist Juuso Laitinen, this single is more than just a new song. It represents the final chapter of the »Songs From The Veil« story, and at the same time, the beginning of the next chapter of As The Sun Falls.

The song tells the tale of a Cosmic Reindeer carrying the life and existence of our universe. Every night, an archer appears to hunt it down, an eternal dance between life and death. One day, the hunter will succeed, piercing the reindeer’s heart and bringing the universe to its final end.

For the artwork of the single, we decided to work once again with Gogo Melone, who has delivered another fantastic piece of art to accompany this story.

»Viimeinen Aamunkoi« is now available on all major streaming platforms!”
