Formed in Kotka, Finland, Demonic Death Judge have been shaking the sludge/stoner metal scene for over a decade, building a formidable reputation across Europe. With four full-length albums and a string of smaller releases under their belt, the band has solidified their status as one of the most promising and consistent sludge-rock outfits on the continent.

Now, after five years, they return with »Absolutely Launched« – their filthiest and heaviest record yet. Mixed by Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Mutoid Man), the album combines the raw power of sludge and stoner metal with atmospheric, blues-soaked textures and crushing, low-end grooves.

“Some of this stuff was written during the pandemic. Says vocalist Jaakko. And it is pretty bleak stuff. Some was done after it. And you’d think the vibe would be somewhat brighter. But really, it isn’t. It’s an album of struggling to keep up with life in this unforgiving society. Mainly drinking through it all. These riffs are fucking heavy, so what else am I gonna write about? Times aren’t looking much better, but I’m glad we made it here and have something to show for it.”
