Florida-based death/doom metal duo Soulmass has just released their new three-track EP »Promise« on September 8th, 2024. Available now on Spotify and other streaming platforms.

The band comments: “Achtung! Soulmass released a new EP, »Promise«. We manipulated reality to create an EP of new tracks using our powerful bioresonance during the past week. If you are a fan of the video game Signalis, you might understand. It is available on Bandcamp and will hit streaming services in the near future. We hope you enjoy the new songs, and don’t forget to remember your promise.”

Tracklist:
01. In Return
02. Decaying Form
03. The Sound Of The Stars

Soulmass was founded in 2013, under the original name Kingdoms Of Flesh, as a recording project consisting of Brett Windnagle and Lux Edwards. They released »The Age Of Darkness« EP before deciding to change the band name. In 2014, Soulmass released their debut full-length, »Despairing Fates«, which catapulted them to underground success among fans of the Soulsborne video game franchise with stand-out tracks like »Chronicles of the Abysswalker« and »Hollow«.

They returned after a hiatus to release their second full-length, »The Weakness Of Virtue«, in 2019, and an improved, remixed/remastered version of »Despairing Fates« in 2021. Their »Eidolon« EP in 2022, inspired by Final Fantasy IX, heralded a new direction for the band’s music and lyrics following the 2023 release of the third and final album in their Soulsborne-inspired trilogy, »Let Us Pray«.

Later in 2023, they released an EP based on Armored Core VI titled »Selling Rubicon By The Pound«, which began a new “arc” of Soulmass releases based on mecha/giant robots. In early 2024 they released their fourth full-length, »Principality Of Mechanical Violence«, inspired by the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.

“»Promise« is a collection of songs inspired by Signalis and its literary references. Immense thanks to rose-engine for creating one of our favorite video games of all time.

Please pick up the books your Uncle ordered from the Itou Bookstore on your way home.”
