Askemåne started in Besançon, France, in 2021 and quickly leaned into a specific lane of neo-folk: Nordic folklore at the centre, tribal percussion underneath, orchestral weight around it, and just enough Eastern colour to keep the edges shifting. The vocals are a big part of the identity. They go guttural and shouted when the music needs it, then fall back into harmonies that feel built to carry a room.
After the singles »Vinter Saga«, »I Rotasjon«, and »Dyaul«, they self-produced »Gravitasjon« in May 2024. Late 2025 marked the start of a new chapter, with fresh members coming in and the vocal stack opening up even further.

That road leads to »Kollisjon«, due March 19th, 2026. It was recorded at Medvedkine Studio, with recording, mix, and mastering handled by Paul Pourchet.
