Formed in April 2020 in the midst of the lockdown by guitarist Julien Prüm, Saturnian Grief began as a solo exploratory project. Very quickly, the group took on a collective dimension, evolving into a quartet enriched by the diverse influences of its members but firmly rooted in a shared foundation: doom metal.

Musically, the band plays a style of doom/death metal that is both massive and atmospheric. The heavy rhythm section and crushing riffs clash with distant melodic soaring passages, forging a deeply cosmic and mystical atmosphere carried by abyssal guttural vocals.

Driven by this duality between raw heaviness and ethereal melodies, Saturnian Grief asserts its identity with its debut EP, »Ghost Ship«, laying the groundwork for its sonic universe before taking it to the stage.
