Since 2015, Clegane have been carving out their own path somewhere between doom and grunge, drawing on the legacy of the ’90s and the weight of modern doom.

Founded by Rudy and Guillaume, and soon joined by Laurent, whose vocal identity would become one of the band’s trademarks, Clegane found its definitive shape with Olivier joining on drums during the Covid years, replacing Rudy.

Disillusioned, instinctive and minimalist, the trio’s music blends saturated riffs, deep rhythms and raw, weathered vocals. Its themes mirror the music itself : depression, addiction, violence and introspective wandering, told through human portraits in which everyone can find something of themselves. Over the years, the band has built a substantial discography: a first EP, »Clegane« (2017), the album »Funeral At Sea« (2018), a split with Father Merrin the same year, »White Of The Eye« (2022), followed by a split with Fatima in 2023.

On stage, Clegane deliver their music with visceral intensity. From underground squats in Switzerland to the Hellfest Purple House in 2025, the trio have established a reputation for deeply immersive live shows, where each track acts like a wave that pulls its audience in and pushes it back out, in a back-and-forth that can be both tormented and dreamlike.

Clegane’s third album, »Ocean Of Black Thoughts«, is released on October 2, 2026 via Almost Famous.

Once again, the band have taken the time to evolve, breaking through their own stylistic boundaries.

Labels no longer matter: the music simply reflects their desires and emotions. Each track is infused with raw emotion, from an explosive burst of rage to a long, regret-tinged contemplation. The title itself is anything but cryptic, perfectly reflecting their music. »Ocean Of Black Thoughts« confidently ventures into broader musical territory: more extensive use of effects, richer drumming, new vocal nuances… As always, Clegane are already working to bring their music wherever they can.

Three years after their last record, this album marks an evolution in Clegane’s sound.

A more generous dose of grunge, shorter formats, a broader musical spectrum and an even more expressive voice. Mixed by Olivier Millot, who also worked on the band’s first EP, and mastered by Thibault Chaumont (Deviant Lab), »Ocean Of Black Thoughts« brings together the band’s past and present. Clegane continue to explore their anxieties, addictions and depression, creating a dense and oppressive atmosphere. Its six tracks are fragments, portraits that both reflect ourselves and connect us to one another. In this new ocean, Clegane retain their unmistakable identity, forged in fire.

Tib Gordon continues to shape the band’s visual universe with artwork that remains deeply handmade and sincere, while also breaking with previous visual codes to reflect this new evolution.
