Get ready for the return of the North East French doomers Athabas! After their debut album, the band is set to unleash their sophomore effort, »Salem«.

As JC Reiss joining behind the drums, and Fa taking the challenge to switch lyrics in French Athabas have definitively evolved into something more personal. The band has given birth to an album talking about Sorcery, Depression & Death that could be summarized in 2 words: Sad & Dark!

This 8-track opus clearly marks a new chapter in the band’s discography, blending their signature heavy sound with darker perspectives, and even post-metal elements, and clean chorus vocal.

Drawing inspiration from doom metal legends like Paradise Lost, Black Sabbath Candlemass, Amenra, Celtic Frost or Crowbar, Athabas crafts a unique sound that is both heavy and melancholic.
