About the album:
“You have to leave now and never come here.”
Repeated over and over throughout the album’s opening and closing tracks, this sentence becomes a mantra – an attempt to escape a human condition that seems destined to repeat itself endlessly.
It is from this premise that Oöhna Call approached the writing of »eKKo«.
The result is eight new instrumental pieces that weave together resonances, loops and reminiscences, blending organic and synthetic sounds.
Through their compositions, the band creates a world where motifs repeat, transform and echo one another, like different reflections of the same idea or memory.
Drawing on a multitude of influences that have deeply shaped the members of Oöhna Call, »eKKo« may at times evoke the worlds of Mogwai, Swans or Neurosis, while developing an identity of its own, somewhere between instrumental tension, electronic textures and melodic atmospheres.
