“»Bargaining« is a cinematic post-metal track built on slow tension, atmospheric layers and emotional weight, exploring grief, loss and inner collapse.”

Sick Sad World have always enjoyed combining genres to provide a personalised musical style in which atmospheric post-rock blends with the intensity of post-hardcore and where sludge breeds gently with black metal. In some ways the offspring of a great orgy between Cult Of Luna, Amenra, Mono, Sólstafir and Agalloch.

The band was founded in January 2007 in Nantes, France. After a few concerts and a first split in 2010 with Another Moon, Sick Sad World released their debut album, »Murmuration«, in April 2014 through Send The Wood Music. It was recorded by David Enique (Strike Down) and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna).

This was followed by a series of dates in Nantes, Caen, Rennes, Poitiers, Angers, and other cities, as well as performances alongside bands like Hypno5e, Rosetta, Time To Burn, Coilguns, Earth Ship, Mantar, Memories Of A Dead Man, The Lumberjack Feedback, and Ingrina.

In 2019, they released »Imago Clipeata«, the band’s second album, again through Atypeek Music. This album was recorded at Brown Bear Recording Studio and mastered once more by Magnus Lindberg.

»Deuil(s)«, the band’s third album, was released in October 2025 through Atypeek Music. It was recorded by Christophe Hogommat and David Enique, mixed by Christophe Hogommat, and mastered by Deviant Lab. The artwork was done by Unexpected Specter.
