Nice, France based post-rock band First Came The Shadow stream their new self-titled album, which was released on October 13th, 2023 via Sleepless Owl Records.

Says the band: “It’s now available for listening on your favorite platforms and as CD and tape on Bandcamp! Vinyls will follow in a few months. Go listen, stream, share, order!”

First Came The Shadow is a post-rock quartet formed in Nice in 2017. Through richly textured harmonic progressions, their music paints wide soundscapes mixing wonder rage and melancholy.

After the release of their first EP »Premonition« in May 2018, the band made several tours in France and neighbouring countries in Spain and Portugal. In March 2020, »Aridity« was released, an album based on the fateful collapse of the post-modern world, impacted by the vicissitudes of man and their consequences. Latest self-titled album »First Came The Shadow« was released in October 2023.

Beyond the “post-rock” genre with which we mostly identify, their music tends more and more to borrow elements from darker or experimental genres.
