It’s time to reveal some good news! You’ve heard it right: Lost In Kiev are back and will release their monumental new album »Rupture« on October 21st! Album pre-order starts on August 4th:

For over 10 years, Lost In Kiev have been releasing narrative-driven cinematic post-rock opuses that have led them to play renowned festivals like Dunk!festival.

Their new song »Solastalgia«, meaning “existential distress caused by environmental change”, is a first taste of the band’s 4th album. With a delicate balance between repetition and variety, »Solastalgia« carefully builds up to erupt in a wall of sound, capturing the full force of the band’s eco-anxiety.

Says the band: “The concept of »Solastalgia« is a pre-traumatic stress caused by the perception of irreversible changes in our environment. As they move into a world that seems to be self-destructing, some people end up being overwhelmed with a suffocating sense of helplessness. It is through these swirling and melancholy melodies that we want to transcribe this feeling. »Solastalgia« is the first single from the next album »Rupture«, an album to express how we feel about the breaking point between modern civilization and natural life.”

“The song maintains an aura of melancholy throughout, almost as if it was meant to be set to a particularly somber scene. If you’ve got headphones, this one certainly feels suited for that.” — Metal Injection
