Nantes, France based psych stoner rockers Maanen Faces are back with their new album, »A Brilliant Future«, which was just released on March 29th, 2025.

Dive into the dystopian universe of »A Brilliant Future«, a sonic journey where Maanen Faces’ psychedelic stoner rock captures the torments of a hyper-connected world. Here, humans are nothing more than modern slaves, drained of their essence and intellect, subjugated by machines and the elites who control them. Through six hard-hitting tracks, this new album explores social uprising, transhumanist drift, and enslavement by artificial intelligence, as well as work-induced suffering, family disintegration, and the escape from death. A dark atmosphere, raw energy, and an uncompromising vision of a future where progress is just another name for oppression.

Maanen Faces is a rock band from Nantes (France) formed in 2021. Combining psychedelic, doom and stoner influences, the band delivers a powerful and dense rock. These Selenite emissaries lost on Earth explore the struggle for survival through their music. It’s mystical but without god, it’s tragic but still alive. After a first EP in 2024, mixing doom and cinematic horror, the band returns in 2025 with a new, longer, more immersive opus, where psychedelic prog rock flirts with the apocalypse.
