Here we go, it’s the final stretch for Fall Of Messiah, spearhead of the French screamo post-rock scene. Their 5th full-length album, »Green Lands«, arrives Friday, April 24th, via Voice Of The Unheard Records (pre-orders open). This album ends a 6-year recording silence, following »Senicarne«. Those who put Saint-Jans-Cappel (North of France) on the map of adventurous and intense music emerge more determined than ever from a difficult period, plagued by doubts and struggles. With a revamped lineup, they celebrate their 20th anniversary, delivering a poignant sonic journey. And 9 days before its release, after »Meadows« and »…New Path«, Fall Of Messiah offers one last sneak peek with »Tour de Force«. A single featuring members of Chalk Hands on vocals! Recommended for fans of envy, Caspian, Pianos Become The Teeth or State Faults.

»Tour de Force« paves the way for the conclusion of »Green Lands«. Fall Of Messiah envisions it as a more heterogeneous, disruptive, imbued with a sense of urgency. As the penultimate song on this new album, it symbolizes the realization that things are going well in the quest for peace to which this epic journey is dedicated. Mirroring the album’s opening, it represents a shift from a defensive stance to one of openness. In this respect, »Tour de Force« is closer to the band’s earlier compositions, whose approach draws inspiration from the »A Dead Sinking Story« era of envy.

What also makes this single unique are the contributions of Antoine Mansion and Tommy Hampshire from the excellent British-Belgian screamo band Chalk Hands, as well as Fabien Verwaerde, who provides the magnificent trumpet leads that grace this new single. Pierre “Meul” Bailleul (drums/vocals) tells us more about it:

“For us, »Tour de Force« is an emoviolence track that meanders until it mutates into a much more post rock approach in its second part. It’s through this shift that we wanted to further enrich the song, and in two ways. Antoine and Tommy honored us by lending their vocals. We’d been waiting a long time to be able to engage in such a collaboration. As for the trumpet finale, it was composed and recorded directly in the studio for Fabien, a very close friend of the band. We’ve always loved brass instruments on post-whatever tracks, like Nitkowski, Foxing, and Moving Mountains… We wanted to recreate a passage like that, but with just one track, and Fab was clearly the perfect person for the job!”
