Grandma’s Ashes, elegant trio at the crossroads of stoner and progressive rock. After the release of their debut EP »The Fates« in January 2021, which encountered a good success in the French stoner and rock scene, the band is back today, Friday 18th, with a great music video for their song »Radish Cure«.

Pitch for the music video: In a thriller and paranormal atmosphere, a young man is waking up in a strange abandoned old house, lost of all his bearings. He discovers with misunderstand, a multitude of radishes spread in the house. His amnesia is interrupted by flashbacks: memories or hallucinations?

Grandma’s Ashes is a girl power trio at the crossroad of progressive rock and stoner. The band released a first single/music video »Daddy Issues« in December 2020 and EP »The Fates« on January 15th, 2021.

The band drags us into their heavy and colourful world. Grandma’s Ashes is heavy guitar riffs supported by a strong rhythm section which finds its balance between the efficient and the subtle. The songs alternate between calm moments led by a clear and delicate voice, and heavy instrumental technical moments which claim their musical identity. Both are merging sometimes to leave room for dark and trippy atmospheres.

The changing structures break the classic rock patterns and make each song increase in power. Grandma’s Ashes stands out thanks to their instrumental and singing skills but also with unique sound and structures which embodies their personal vision of a modern and narrative stoner.

Texts are funny and dark as if the Monty Pythons were an electric girlband who invites you to put your fingers in the grip. Although, we can guess a few influences: Yes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Kate Bush… sprinkled with sing-along, trippy and smooth choruses just like Muse, atmospheres like All Them Witches, Monolord or French band Mars Red Sky.

Formed in 2017, the band experimented its music on the road of France during 3 years and prepared the release of their first EP »The Fates«, which dropped January 2021.
