German sludge outfit Zeit has released a new official video for »Marschieren«, taken from their recent EP »R.U.M.S«. The song is a cover of the German leftist sludge metal band Totenmond. The video can be found HERE.

“We are what, many years later, became known as the “baseball bat generation.” Young people who never dared to go out on the streets alone, who used bicycles instead of public transportation, and who knew which streets to avoid and when. We in Leipzig were still lucky compared to our friends in Chemnitz or Cottbus.

Twenty years later, the people who threw beer bottles at us are sitting in the parliament, and away from the big cities, a new right wing is taking control of the streets. Totenmond perfectly summed up our anger and contempt in their lyrics back in the 1980s. And unfortunately, these lyrics are as relevant today as they were then: “There they march again”.”

Zeit released their new EP, »R.U.M.S«, November 7th, 2025 through 357 Records. Available now on limited edition cassette and digitally at rumsdiezeit.bandcamp.com, »R.U.M.S« represents the band’s latest musical experiment, fusing black metal and sludge with the pulse and textures of electronic music.

On this release, Zeit channel inspiration from the heart of 1990s rave culture – hardcore techno, acid house, drum & bass, and classic minimal electro – and merge those influences with their signature intensity. »R.U.M.S« stands for Rave Until Morning Sunlight, Run Under Massive Stress, Rotten Urban Misguided Scum, or anything listeners want it to mean, reflecting the open spirit of the EP.

The songs were recorded, mixed and mastered by Fur at Studio 357, with cover artwork by Ralf S.

Since their formation in 2010, Zeit have built a body of work that stretches from wintery EPs and melodic doom passages to grind punk and death metal. »R.U.M.S« continues this path of evolution, bringing together both the new and the familiar in a direct exploration of electronic-metal fusion.
