The Fright have walked the line between shadow and melody for over two decades. Emerging from the dark heart of Germany’s gothic rock scene, the band blends haunting melancholy with the pulse of modern heaviness – a sound echoing The Cult, Type O Negative, and Unto Others.

Their upcoming EP »Death« marks a new chapter: five interconnected songs exploring loss, longing, and beauty in decay. Each track unfolds as part of a larger vision – a poetic descent into darkness where love, grief, and mortality intertwine.

Frontman Lon Fright leads this journey with deep emotion and cinematic intensity, shaping The Fright into more than a band – a world of its own.

Founded in 2002 in Hermsdorf, Germany by frontman Lon Fright, The  Fright evolved from horror-punk into a dark/gothic rock force.

In 2025, their sound channels the 80s-wave melancholy of The Cure, wrapped in guitar-driven intensity akin to The Sisters Of Mercy and Type O Negative, with heavier, metallic tones lurking beneath.

Albums like »Canto  V« (2017) – inspired by Dante’s »Inferno« and produced by Waldemar Sorychta (Tiamat, Moonspell, Lacuna Coil, Sentenced) – delivered haunting synth textures, memorable riffs, and powerful vocals. Their latest work, »Voices Within« (2022), dives deeper into emotional depths while maintaining melodic hooks and dark energy.

With a legacy of European tours alongside acts like The Other and The  69 Eyes, The  Fright continue to captivate with their unique blend of gothic drama and hard-hitting rock.
