Discouraged is a four-piece death/doom metal from Münster, Germany featuring members of Crypts, The Infernal Deceit & Goodbye, Old Me.
Discouraged deliver a compelling blend of death doom metal that combines crushing heaviness, haunting melancholy and memorable melodies. Drawing inspiration from the early days of Anathema, Paradise Lost and Katatonia while injecting the raw power of death metal, their debut album »A Farewell In Stages« offers an atmospheric, emotional and distinctly modern take on the genre.
The cover artwork by Gustave Doré dates back to 1866 and features a detail from his work “Naomi and her Daughters-in-Law”. The album was recorded at DorMaKlang Studios, mixed and mastered by Matthias Lohmöller.
