Osnabrück, Germany based doom/sludge metal band Iron Walrus premiere a lyric video for the latest single »Reborn« taken from their new album, »Tales Never Told«, which was just released on March 24th, 2023 via Apostasy Records.

An adult walrus can weigh more than 2,000 kilograms. Many human beings must feel a similar emotional weight on their shoulders in this day and age – solid as iron and heavy as a walrus.

Iron Walrus perfectly capture these feelings in tunes that are ranging somewhere in between stoner, slugde and metal with a healthy portion of doom and noisecore. Their three albums so far showcase their ability to provide slow-paced, catchy mid-tempo riffs, which doomy appearance is supported by powerful drums and relentlessly deep vocals. This gives their songs a lot of depth as well as a crushing brutality. But Iron Walrus don’t just roll slowly over the listener, they also know when to press the tempo pedal down in spot-on doses, without ever losing their enormous groove.

The German band from Osnabrück is a strong live force, that has crushed stages during their tours with Khemmis and Crowbar (among others), and during their shows in support of Hatebreed, Pentagram, St. Vitus, Max & Iggor Cavalera Return To Roots, Sodom, Obituary (and many more), as well as during their festival appearances at the Rockavaria Festival, the Desertfest or Stoned From The Underground. Fans and press relatives were likewise impressed and spread the word to an ever-growing fanbase. The German Rock Hard magazine cited “Iron Walrus are the kings of choruses” while Deaf Forever described the five-piece as “Apocalyptic border crossers between doom, slugde and metal”.

On their fourth album, Iron Walrus refine their sound somewhere in between stoner, slugde and metal with a healthy portion of doom and noisecore, and take it to the next level. The new song collection marks their most varied one to date. The marching »XDimensions« starts the album while »Pay Your Toll« is a hardrocking beast, but the German band from Osnabrück also deliver some classy doomy mid-tempo pieces like »Dead Spot« or »Problems«. The title track is maybe their most complete track so far, a slow-paced monster which is making its way to an emotional grand finale. »Under My Skin« is the albums closing track, and it’s a melancholic ride that simply needs to be experienced.

Iron Walrus will take care that these »Tales Never Told« won’t stay like that. With the help of Apostasy Records, the five-piece released this new chapter on March 24, 2023.
