“It’s all the rage to talk about the damage and ill our families do to our mental stability and psyche, mainly because it’s a pretty serious issue that’s only been taken as seriously as it should in recent generations and the older folks aren’t too keen on hearing it because accountability is too hard for many of them. If you don’t know this feeling then, well… congrats? Bikini Beach take it to a whole new level and Trojan horse that message into a neat, punked-up burner of a track that’s unavoidably precise and loud.” – Everything Is Noise
“Their new magnum opus! Fat West Coast psych-rock sound that’s more awesome than anything Ty Segall, John Dwyer and the like have delivered recently.” – Flight 13

Bikini Beach’s new album »Cursed« emphasizes contrasts, featuring fuzzy riffs and sweet melodies. The band, consisting of Nils Hagstrom, Charlotte Love, and Manuel “Flip” Oetlli, hails from Lake Constance and nearby Switzerland. The title reflects the chaos of recent years, from the pandemic to war in Europe. Their sound is darker in 2025, with lyrics addressing personal struggles and global crises.
The album was mostly self-produced, with final touches by Flip and a mix by Ärzte bassist Rodrigo “Rod” González. The artwork, inspired by scientist Maria Sibylla Merian, was designed by bassist Lotti.
Bikini Beach focus on contrasts in their new album »Cursed«, their seventh release. Singer and guitarist Nils Hagstrom and bassist Charlotte Love live in Constance, while drummer Manuel “Flip” Oetlli is from Switzerland. The title reflects the chaos since 2020, beginning with the pandemic and later intensified by the war in Europe. By 2025, their sound has grown darker than ever. Their lyrics address personal struggles and frustration with global issues, from environmental collapse to political and military crises. Despite their privileged position, the band feels overwhelmed by current events.
