TIER is Fab (bass), Jan (guitar), and Jones (drums) – three brothers in spirit and groove, united by their love for heavy riffs and catchy melodies. This power trio plays exclusively original compositions, defining their sound as dark-western-stoner: powerful songwriting, multi-layered vocals, and a flair for the dramatic. Their influences span the ‘90s and 2000s stoner and grunge scenes, blended with elements of ‘70s and Southern rock, as well as classic blues and Western themes. The result? A mix of raw authenticity and untamed energy, felt in every note and every performance.

After their debut EP »Dawner« (released in late 2022), TIER is set to drop their first full-length album, »Backwood Blues«, this May via the esteemed Kiel-based indie label Pink Tank Records. Under the direction of René Hofmann (Fat&Holy Records), the trio poured sweat and soul into an album that encapsulates everything TIER stands for: driving basslines, gritty riffs, groovy beats, and an incredibly tight interplay that instantly draws the listener in. Rather than opting for a big studio production, the band recorded everything live in their rehearsal space – raw and unfiltered – before collaborating closely with Lorenz “Lolo” Blümler (Iron Bar Studios) on mixing and finalizing the sound with mastering by Willi Dammeier (Institut für Wohlklangforschung).

The songs on »Backwood Blues« strike a rare balance between a deep respect for traditional blues and stoner motifs and an open-minded approach to other musical influences. This fusion creates a unique listening experience, where powerful melodies and rich harmonies linger long after the last note fades. And when performed live, these songs take on a whole new dimension.

Because at its core, TIER is all about the live experience. On stage, their raw energy comes to life, forging a near-tangible connection between band and audience – intense, passionate, and electrifying.
