For fans of The Ocean, Katatonia and atmospheric post-metal: Coal & Crayon fuse progressive rock, post-metal intensity and cinematic dynamics into a sound that shifts from fragile melodies to crushing heaviness.

From the Baltic Sea island of Rügen, known for its beaches, forests and pirate legends, emerges Coal & Crayon, a band that has spent years carving out its own path beyond the region’s traditional punk, hardcore and metal scene.

Formed in 2006 as Message In Blood and reborn as Coal & Crayon in 2012, the band has steadily refined a sound that blends progressive rock, post-metal atmosphere and powerful dynamics. After acclaimed releases like »World Asleep« (2013), »KYRA« (2017) and »Beneath The Moral Void« (2024), the band now signals a new chapter.
