Singer Francis on »KTNSAX«: “‘Farm some time, watch it grow,’ that line came to me on a Monday morning in September 2024, after two weeks bedridden – and harvesting a solid twelve hours of daily screen time on my phone. Twelve hours a day in which I believed I was fully up to date: the latest news, trending memes, my friends’ daily lunches – and yet completely disconnected from the world around me.
The political climate, social media manipulation, filter bubbles, AI – these were things I needed to process. At first glance, it all seems so convenient: the library of the world in our hands, the ability to join any conversation, to be the discourse. And yet we hide behind carefully curated images, profiles on platforms, pretending to be someone we’re not… and perhaps even falling for the façades and profit-driven illusions of others.
In the end, what remains is the paradoxical truth: Blessed are the ignorant.”
Three years after their studio album »Heretic Tongues«, Wucan return with new music in 2025. In good old Wucan fashion, musically, the band is moving forward with heavy beats, loud guitars, and epic vocals, ensuring that no rock fan can stay still. They deliver undeniable headbangers that still hold surprises for long-time fans and leave no wishes unfulfilled in terms of sound diversity. Songs for all music lovers and, as always, with a touch of surprise that makes Wucan songs Wucan songs.
Wucan break up ossified genre conventions. They develop something new with creativity on the basis of a rock tradition that has its origins in the late 1960s and yet is much more than just Anglo-American. The band does not follow the relevant acts so much as it pays tribute to its own history. Let’s be honest – who still knows hard rockers from Eastern Germany like Babylon, Berluc or Blitzz? Bandleader Francis Tobolsky became one of the best rock singers in Germany over the past years and represents the new spirit that Wucan brings to the rock scene.
