“Nigh is a cultic rock band founded in Cologne in 2021. We do Garage Psych Rock, but that garage is a temple, a ziggurat even, for the Sun God of Dance. Thus, our shows are an invitation to dance along to our vibrant bass lines, non-stop percussions and hypnotic, almost intuitive guitar melodies.

Join us and take part in the ritual act. Sometimes someone will get sacrificed on the spot, but that’s just meant metaphorically… right?

What to expect at the mass? Nonstop dance-inducing drums, idol-shattering, break-a-sweat percussion, gravity-bending, alter-all-orbits guitar, heartbeat-rhythm-changing bass, and SUNdering body-and-soul valkyrie vocals.”

Nigh about their debut album »Sacrifice Yourself«:

“SUN IS NIGH, WE TOLD YOU SO, MANY TIMES, IF YOU DIDN’T LISTEN, AGAIN, ONCE MORE, SUN IS NIGH, I REPEAT: THE END IS NIGH.

Thanks to @cultofthegaz for the amazingly beautiful cover artwork!

The album is titled »Sacrifice Yourself« which has several meanings to us. Firstly, of course, we sacrifice you as an offer to the almighty Sun God during our live shows in frenzy Cardiac Rites followed by a calm, spiritual Libation. Secondly, we sacrificed a lot in the making of this album, sweat, and, especially, mental energy, among other things. Moreover, and most importantly, we think that we live in times when humanity has lost the concept of sacrificing something, not to mention oneself for a certain purpose or cause. This is not meant literally. However, it seems that we have to sacrifice something – looking at you: greed – in order for us to live harmonically with each other, nature and the planet.”
